WESTRIDGE GOLF CLUB CAPTAINS CHARITY DAY - BORN TO GOLF
Westridge Golf Club in Ryde has raised just under £1900 for the Barely Born Appeal through a series of events culminating in the Captain’s Challenge on Sunday, 31 May 2009.
“As well as holding an 18 hole stableford, putting and bunker competitions that all generated income, we held an auction and raffle. All prizes were kindly donated by both Island and mainland businesses, as well as club members. We have also raised money via weekly raffles.” said the Club Captain, Chris Blanchard. “We cannot thank enough, those businesses and individuals for their generous donations to this worthy and much needed cause. Thanks also to Osborne, Cowes, Newport, Freshwater and Shanklin and Sandown Golf Clubs who also donated prizes. The event would not have been successful without all of their support.”
A big thank you to Westridge Garage, F H Winter Garage, Bembridge Coast Hotel, Taverners Inn at Godshill, Jaks Hair Studio in Ryde, HMC Plant Services in Buckinghamshire, Durkin & Sons in Wembley, Instalcom Ltd in Hertfordshire and Bob Sing-Bansi.
Thankyou to Cowes Golf Club and particularly Chris Lacey and Brian Russell, Freshwater Golf Club, Newport Golf Club, Osborne Golf Club, Ryde Golf Club, Sandown and Shanklin Golf Club and last but by no means least Westridge Golf Club. Special thanks to Dave Goodey, George Pugh and all club members at Westridge Golf Club.
